We are actively researching our history at this time. The accomplishments of individual dogs are the "firsts" that we know of at this time.
1900 The Pomeranian breed was recognized by the American Kennel Club and the American Pomeranian Club (APC) was formed.

The first BOB was awarded to a Pomeranian in America.  English judge L.P.C. Astley awarded this honor to (later Ch.) Nubian Rebel, a brown owned by Mrs. Frank Smythe.

1909 The American Pomeranian Club was accepted as a Member Club of the American Kennel Club and designated as the "Parent Club" for the breed.
1910 The first specialty show was held with an entry of 138.  English judge Mrs. L.C. Dyer awarded BOB to CH Canner Prince Charming (black).
1912 The first regional  Pomeranian specialty club, Western Pomeranian Club was formed in Chicago, IL by Mrs. Hebden.
1921 The American Pomeranian Club was incorporated.
1926 Glen Rose Flashaway, owned by Joseph Greenwood was the first Pomeranian to take a Group I at the Westminster Kennel Club.
1940 The first Obedience Title CD - CH Bantam Bacheler CD, owned by Mrs. Byron Hofman, published in the November 1940 AKC Gazette.
1941 First CDX Title - Georgian's Betty, owned by Agnes Niven, finished the CDX on May 16, 1941.
1943 The first UDT titled Pomeranian was Georgian's Betty, UDT bred by Mrs. George Shepperd of Basking Ridge, NJ and owned by Mrs. Agnes Niven of Connecticut.
1948 The first Tracking (TD) titled Pomeranian was Georgian's Betty, UDT bred by Mrs. George Shepperd of Basking Ridge, NJ and owned by Mrs. Agnes Niven of Connecticut in September of 1948.
1958 The official magazine of the APC, The Pomeranian Review, began publication with James Arima as its editor.
1961 The first American bred female to go BIS at an all-breed show was CH Ridglea's Luscious Retta. She was bred and owned by Mr. & Mrs. K. Terrell of Fort Worth, TX.
1973 The first black Pomeranian to be awarded Best In Show (Penobscot Valley K.C.) was CH Silva Lade's Gentle Ben ("Bear"). He was bred and owned by Dianne Johnson of Baltimore, MD.
August 18, 1979 The first Obedience Trial Champion Pomeranian was OTCH Uhland's Creme Puff Delight, owned by Eleanore Uhland.
1980 The first Pomeranian to earn both a breed ring championship and a UD title was CH Nino of Thelcolynn, UD HOF, owned by Mrs. E. P. ("Billie") Lambert of Arlington, VA.
June 26, 1981 The first blue Pomeranian champion (Mountaineer KC under Judge Frank Oberstar) was CH Silva Lade's The Enforcer ("Tyrone"). He was bred, owned and handled by Dianne Johnson of Baltimore, MD.
1985 The first chocolate & tan Pomeranian champion (Kittanning KC under Judge Frank Oberstar) was CH Silva Lade's Almond Joy ("Kitten"). She was bred, owned and handled by Dianne Johnson of Baltimore, MD.
1984 The first black & tan Pomeranian to be awarded Best In Show was Ch Bev-Nor's Toasty's Tanya, a bitch. She was bred by Beverly Norris & Charlotte Creed and owned by Beverly Norris & Ed Jenner.
1988 CH Great Elms Prince Charming II, ROMX HOF (CH Cedarwood's Image of Diamond, ROM x Great Elms Sweet Candy, ROMS), handled by Skip Piazza, was awarded Best In Show at the Westminster Kennel Club Show at Madison Square Garden by Judge Michele Billings. "Prince" was bred by Ruth Beam and owned by Olga Baker and Skip Piazza.
  The first Pomeranian to earn a Canine Good Citizenship (CGC) award was CH Idlewyld Lavalier, CDX CGC HOF (CH Idlewyld Gemstone, CDX HOF x CH Idlewyld Sar Pendant, CD ROM), bred, owned and handled by Margaret McKee. CH Idlewyld Lavalier, CDX CGC HOF was also the first dual titled Pomeranian from dual titled parents.
February 12, 1995 The first Pomeranian to earn a Novice Agility (NA) title was Kassel's Dandelion Down, UD NA HOF ROM. "Dande" was owned by Lois Morkassel of Fargo, ND.
June 23, 1996 The first Pomeranian to earn three performance titles was Ollie Blue Bluster, CDX TD OA CGC TT GC. "Ollie" was bred by Ray Mooney and was owned by Randall F. & Ann Griffith Morris of Portland, OR.
November 17, 1996 The first female brindle Pomeranian to be awarded a championship was CH Jan Le's Rumm Tumm Tigger (CH Jan Le's Willie Makit x Jan Le's Quartrcup Of Troubl). She was bred and owned by Judy Mehciz and Jane Lehtinen.
March 9, 1997 The first male brindle Pomeranian champion was Ch. Jan Le's Color Me Badd (Ch. Jan Le's Willie Makit x Jan Le's Quartrcup Of Troubl). He completed his championship by going WD/BOW and Best BBE at the National Specialty under Judge Barbara Camp. He was bred by Jane Lehtinen and was owned by Jane Lehtinen and Duane Doll.
May 12, 1999 The first black & tan Pomeranian to be awarded Best In Show Specialty (Central Arkansas Pomeranian Club) under judge Mildred K. Bryant was CH Southland's Black Tie N Tails, GC HOF. He was owned by Annette Rister and Charlotte Creed and bred by Charlotte Creed.
May 15, 1999 The first black & tan Pomeranian to be awarded Multiple Best In Show's was CH Southland's Black Tie N Tails, GC HOF. He was owned by Annette Rister and Charlotte Creed and bred by Charlotte Creed.
June 7, 2003 The first blue sable Pomeranian to complete a championship was CH Dimonde's Silver And Gold (Dimonde's Gem Fire, CD CGC x Dimonde Flynn's Cover Girl). "Angel" was bred, owned and handled by Diana Downey.
January 21, 2003 MACH3 Lord Peter of Bristol Court "Keoki" FGDCH is the first Pomeranian to become a Flyball Champion.  He is the first Pom to earn the titles of FMX, FMCH, ONYX, AND FGDCH in flyball.  He is also the first of any toy breed to become a Flyball Champion earning the champion title of FGDCH.
November 21, 2004 MACH3 Lord Peter of Bristol Court "Keoki" FGDCH is the first and only Pomeranian to hold dual champion titles in Flyball and Agility. 
January 2, 2005 The first Pomeranians to complete Rally Novice titles were Desert Fire Rose, CDX RN OA NAP NAJ and Extane Haleigh's Fire Dream, CD RN owned by Crystal Brown and Music To My Eyes, CD RN, Satrapa Sayornis, RN and Street Fighting Man, RN owned by Marcia Messina.
January 17, 2005 The first Pomeranian to complete a Rally Advanced title was Rhett Butler, CDX RA owned by Dell Brown.
March 11, 2005 The first Pomeranian to complete a Rally Excellent title was Janesa's Tiffany Is An Angel UD RE NA NAJ owned by Barbara McClatchey.
November 19, 2005 The first Pomeranian to complete a Rally Advanced Excellent title was Janesa's Tiffany Is An Angel UD RAE NA NAJ owned by Barbara McClatchey.
February 17, 2007 CH Extane Haleigh's Fire Dream CD, RN, NA, NAJ, CGC is now the first Pom to sport titles in Conformation, OB, Agility and Rally!  How is that for an all around girl! Haleigh is owned by Crystal Brown of Purple Sage Poms in WY.
November 6, 2006 The first blue merle bitch to complete a championship was Ch. Pombreden's Kauai Blue O-Ce-An.
November 28, 2009 The first Blue Merle & Tan Pomeranian to complete a championship was Ch Blue Moon's Dear Prudence RN "Prudence". Owned by Lindsay & Lori Kamrath, Alane Levinsohn, & Lana Price.
May 23, 2010 The first blue merle & tan parti to take a group placement was Blackcrystal's Freckles N Speckles.
August 14, 2010 The first Pomeranian to achieve Beginner Novice was Happy As Can Be Of Samron BN RN, owned by Carolyn Smith & Norma Smart
August 28, 2010 The first Pomeranian to achieve Graduate Novice was Sunshine Gator Boy CD GN RE, owned by Dale Haralson.
September 6,1010 First bred by Pomeranian with an RAE3 (9/6/2010) and an HOF (11/20/08) was Malashel's Incredibly Irresistible RAE3, CD, HOF, TDI, CGC
September 10, 2010 First parti Pomeranian to achieve an RAE4 (9/10/10) and an HOF (11/20/08) was Great Rivers Meg Rules Malashel RAE4, CD, HOF, TDI, CGC
September 18, 2010 The first Blue Merle & Tan Pomeranian to achieve a Grand Championship was GCh Ch Blue Moon's Dear Prudence RN "Prudence". Owned by Lindsay & Lori Kamrath, Alane Levinsohn, & Lana Price.
October 30, 2010 The first Pomeranian to achieve Beginner Novice Pom was Kamala’s Pomdemonium Master Robinton BN RN on 10/30/2010, owned by Debra Watson.
March 15, 2012 The first Blue Merle & Tan Pomeranian to achieve titles at both ends of her name. GCh Ch Blue Moon's Dear Prudence RN "Prudence". Owned by Lindsay & Lori Kamrath, Alane Levinsohn, & Lana Price.
March 31, 2012 The first Pomeranian to receive a Coursing Title was RonE’s Bjřrn to Fly, CA owned by Jayne Hoemke.
February 13, 2013 The first Pomeranian to receive a Therapy Dog Title was CH Extane Little Red Corvette RA THD CGC owned by Angela Jensen & Crystal Brown.
